Cool Contest is a Los Angeles based record label and podcast series known for its off-kilter approach to house music and visual design. A loosely associated band of electronic misfits and underground hero’s alike, the label has released some OF the more obscure and classic house tunes in the past 7 years, boasting a unique catalog of danceable and lofi tracks.

Cool Contest is the brainchild of Bobby Lava and DJ Xboyfriend and was started in a basement lockout studio in Hollywood CA. Their distinctive style of avant garde music and design, carries a comedic and self deprecating view of DJ culture and society. Framing the scene as an unspoken contest, of who can be the coolest. Their work has translated into warehouse events, apparel and their radio show on Data Transmission.
